Rubbing bow on railing.

A combination of a variety of arrow sounds at different intervals and landing in wood. Used as an effect of archers laying down a group of arrows on pirate ship.

Small choppy waves against a ship's bow. Recorded with a tascam dr-40 and a stereo couple of røde microphones.

The sound of st mary le bow (london), a. K. A. The bow bells, ringing stedman cinques, as a practice. The zoom h4npro was placed above the bells, in the base of the spire, on a thin wooden trapdoor. Fairly lenghty recording (13 mins), but gives plenty of time to select from. Take a small section from the start for the traditional "rounds" where the bells sound in descending order (in terms of pitch), or select from the bulk of the recording to get some traditional english style change ringing. These bells are known as the bells white called dick whittington (mayor of london) back when he tried to flee, and also as the 'great bells of bow' in nursery rhyme 'oranges and lemons'. Use away! this seems to be (imo - that of a proper bellringer) the best recording of bells on here, so please do use it!!.

The "concrete cello" pack is a collection of scraping, scratchy and droning improvisations on the cello focussing on the creation of sounds to be used as base materials for future compositions. They were originally recorded in 2019 to be used in as sound design elements for the documentary "hotel regina" by director matthias berger for which i composed the music. Part of the impetus of this sampling session was to create cello sounds that would be remiscent of construction machines. (if you look on the geotag you can see the machines, well, sort of). Bow wave of a ~8m sailing boat in calm water, distant micing. No sounds from the sail (could just as well be a motor boat depending on what you layer the sound with ;) ). There is also recording with a more close up perspective of the bow wave. Recorded with a ~30cm ab pair of neumann km183 on a tascam hd-p2, 48khz, 24bit.
